Style Diaries: Xotchiltl's pregnancy style

I’ve known Xotchiltl on IG for seven years! When I messaged her about my idea for the newsletter, she told me she was pregnant, and I was elated because I was curious to see how her style would evolve with her growing bump. We discussed her plans for her pregnancy wardrobe and her month-long travel to Europe before baby. She agreed to document her vacation pregnancy looks and most of her outfits from April - July. She sent many photos, and I am including ALL here because they will inspire everyone’s summer dressing.

Pant: Chelsea Mak Top: Thrifted

Me: What’s been your biggest surprise while dressing your pregnant body? What did you expect, and how were your expectations different from what you’re experiencing?

Xotchiltl: I thought I would have to buy a lot more stuff, and I thought my style would change because there were things I’d have to wear to accommodate the belly. But I’ve worn most of what I’d wear anyways, like oversized button-ups and a lot of casual pants. I wore a lot of jeans pre-pregnancy, but I haven’t had the opportunity to do so because I didn’t feel like buying maternity jeans. I didn’t want to buy jeans that would only fit for maternity, and I didn’t know what I would look like after the pregnancy. You don’t know! I am embracing the uncertainty and changes that come every week. In the last five days, I’ve noticed that my belly is bigger than it was. I can feel the weight and I feel like I need more support.

Me: Support in what sense?
