In defense of good personal style
This newsletter is in your inbox because my dear friend Ade responded to this tweet. I have spent the last 6 months trying to articulate this thought and this tweet about Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy aligned my scattered brain and here it is.
When I wrote about the limitations to finding your personal style, a question kept bouncing around in my head: What does having good personal style look like? Back then, I said, “It is impossible to articulate what having a good style is but you know when you see it” — and while this is true, I wanted to attempt to show you by breaking it down in these two newsletters about Zoe Kravitz and Nicolas Cage. In this letter, I want to nail down the thought so I can finally be free of it.
Before we talk about Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, we have to first discuss what happened to Carrie’s style on SATC.
