Dressing Elliot: A conversation with my 9-year-old on dressing up

Note: I wrote about dressing my son Elliot almost two years ago and promised a follow-up interview. I decided against it after recording. I didn’t think he understood what he agreed to, although he said he understood many people we didn’t know would listen. He was disappointed. He’s waited for this interview, and I have said no until this morning. As we dressed, I transcribed our conversation in the Notes app until it was time to go.

We tried taking photos for this newsletter, but Elliot fell ill. Then I did, and he did. LOL. We won’t make promises because it depends on Elliot’s mood, but I’d love to show you the clothes we reference.
